Our Adult Choir, under the direction of Stephen Williams, sings at the 11:30AM Sunday Liturgy, with the Choir Director serving as organist. The Choir Director endeavors to choose appropriate music that brings out the themes of each Sunday's Eucharist. Rehearsals are every Thursday evening from 7:00-8:00 p.m., however it is not unusual to find the choir extending rehearsal time to two hours preceding special Liturgical times of the year (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Holy Week, and Easter). The choir always welcomes new members. Please see Steve or any member of the choir after Mass on Sunday or at rehearsal Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m. in the Church. Parish Music Ministry – Thank You!(this text appeared in the Parish Bulletin June 15-16, 2002) This weekend marks the end of the season for our regular schedule of Music Ministry. Choir Director Steve Williams and Music Ministry Coordinators Anne Andrea and Laura Grant want to express their appreciation to all the members of the parish choir, folk group, cantors and instrumentalists for sharing their time and talents with the parish. We’d also like to extend an invitation to anyone who has considered joining the parish music ministry to join us this summer. During July and August, we’re planning a few Sundays of "Pick-Up Choir," an opportunity for anyone who’s interested to come and sing with us. Watch for the dates in a future bulletin. In September, we’ll return to our weekly schedule, and we always welcome new members. A major highlight for our music ministry this year was the invitation to participate with several other choirs in the Epiphany Concert and Tableau at Holy Trinity Church in Boston, under the direction of our own George Krim. Our choir (including Father Joe!) worked very hard to learn a great deal of new and challenging music for this concert, and had a wonderful time. In addition to our regular weekend Masses, our music ministry put in lots of extra time to make all of our Christmas and Holy Week liturgies more beautiful with their music, and participated in the celebrations of First Penance, Confirmation, and First Eucharist. So again, a big THANK YOU!!! to all who shared their music with us this year! Have a great summer! |
